What WhatIsMyIP is
WhatIsMyIP is a free, browser-based set of network utilities: an IP lookup tool, a speed test, a DNS checker, and a data breach scanner, paired with a plain-language guide to how IP addressing, DNS, VPNs, NAT, and related networking concepts actually work.
Why it exists
Most "what is my IP" tools show a single number with little context. This site aims to do both: give you the live number you came for, and explain what it does and doesn't mean — what a website can and can't tell about you from your IP address, how IP-based geolocation actually works, and how tools like VPNs change what's visible.
The tools

- Data Breach Scanner — check an email address against known public breaches
How it works, transparently
WhatIsMyIP is a static, client-side site with no backend database and no user accounts. Every tool runs in your browser and talks directly to a named third-party API — ipify.org and ipapi.co for IP lookup, Cloudflare for the speed test and DNS checker, and XposedOrNot for the breach scanner. We list exactly which service each tool uses in our Privacy Policy, rather than describing data handling in vague terms.

WhatIsMyIP is an independent resource and is not affiliated with, and does not represent, any internet service provider, browser vendor, or the third-party API providers named above.
